It's a Points Pool

Pigskin Pick'em isn't just about tracking who picked right — it's a weekly competition for a points pot. Each week, every player stakes a set number of points on their picks. The player who picks the most games correctly that week wins the pot. Pick wrong and your staked points go to the winner.

Points have no monetary value — they're a way to keep score and create stakes within the app. What your group does with the bragging rights is up to you.

The Weekly Pot

At the start of each week, players enter the pot by having picks in. How large that pot gets depends on the Entry Mode your commissioner chose:

• Season commitment: every player is charged their stake every week — whether they submit picks or not. Forget to pick and you still lose points to the winner.
• Week-by-week: only players who submit picks that week enter the pot. Skip a week and nothing happens — you just sit out.

Point Stakes by Game Type

The commissioner sets how many points are at stake for each type of game — your league may use different values. The defaults are:

Playoff games are worth more because there are fewer games and bigger decisions — a wrong pick stings more, but a right one pays out more too.

Tiebreakers

If two or more players pick the same number of games correctly in a week, the tiebreaker kicks in. Each week includes one designated tiebreaker game where players predict the final score — this prediction is only used when there's a tie. The commissioner chooses which tiebreaker method the league uses:

• Standard: whoever's score prediction is closest to the actual final score wins.
• Advanced: whoever's combined (both teams) predicted score is closest to the actual combined score wins.
• None: tied players split the pot equally.

Season Prize (optional)

The weekly pot resets every week — it doesn't carry over. But if the commissioner has enabled the Season Prize, there's a separate pot that builds up all season and pays out at the end to whoever has the best overall record.

"Best record" can be measured two ways:

• Most correct picks: raw total of games picked correctly across the season. In a season-commitment league, everyone plays every week, so this is straightforward.
• Best accuracy: correct picks as a percentage of total picks attempted. Fairer in week-by-week leagues, where players opt in at different rates.

The Season Prize is optional and disabled by default. If your league doesn't use it, the weekly pots are the only thing at stake each week.
